Slacker....

Yep, I've been a slacker here. Been quite busy shooting, that's a good thing. Managed to fit a vacation in, watched my brother graduate from Le Cordon Bleu School, (can we say a YUMMY reception) and so today I'll try to hit the highlights and post a few pics to update one & all on all the late breaking news. First we have Jen & Mike's Engagement shoot... what a sweet couple! Wedding coming up this weekend so you won't have to wait too long to see the wedding pics! Here are a few of the shots from that shoot, we went to the lawn, the weather cooperated and the results were fabulous!

Next, I had an impromptu session with a coworker's fantastic "Three Musketeers" the best kind of session if you ask me. The kids were totally unaware that I was going to show up, they'd been swimming at the pool with their Granny all day so they had that nice mellow sunglo/ tranquil effect going. We had a great time, pulled Dad's bright yellow jeep into the back yard & had a ball. Dustin, Julia & Seth , you've been "Candidly" captured! :)

That's all for now.... Candidly, Dottie

And the winner is.....

Nathan!!!!
Man oh man it was a close race. It went back and forth between Christian and Nathan several times over the past two weeks. Courtney and Scott were clever and got their own votes in for Christian, I never said otherwise, but in the end Nathan got a few more votes. It was fun! Chris & Rachel give me a call to claim your prize. :)

Nathan your winner is: Shannon Gavin
Christian your winner is: Paula Kirby

Congrats to all!

Dori & Robert

The long awaited wedding has arrived!
Oh My! What a Great Couple! Dori made it SO easy for me to take beautiful photos... The hardest part was choosing which ones to put on the blog & website. Congrats you two, may you have a long and happy future together. And remember to keep me in mind for those maternity and baby photos! Love watching these families grow!

Why IS it Called Candid Art?

A long time ago I fell in love with the art of candid photography. That moment when you capture the essence of a person, there is nothing quite like it... and when working with children the "moment" seems to present itself quite frequently. Check out these five beauties below. What better illustration could I ask for than any one of these precious moments captured here. I love my job! :) Candidly! Dottie

Here's Bailey, She Has this great habit of kicking back on the couch and swinging her leg up when she drinks her bottle. She just cracked me up! What a doll baby!

Here's Nathan. Look's like he's thinking"I should have had a V-8!" Great Shot! Gotta love babies!!

If ever two little guys loved their Daddy, Hunter & Austin sure do fit into that department!! They were just absolutely thrilled to have fire helmets on their heads and ran around the parking lot chanting fire truck, going on a fire call, fire truck... and on and on. I was laughing so hard I almost couldn't take the photo. Too cute!

Here's Teirna, She just walked up to her puppy dog & sat down on him. He seemed to be a good sport about it. Fortunately I was there with my camera to capture the action! She sure
made my day! :)

Last, but certainly not least here's Christian. Once he got tired of looking at the world right side up, he viewed it all upside-down! Folks wonder why I love photography, candid photography, children's photography...., for me, it's a no-brainer, full-time entertainment!

Watch the Blog... Soon to come... photos of Dori & Robert's wedding, what a great time! Super sweet & beautiful couple, and you should have seen them waltz! Quite impressive!

The Advantages....

of being the training captian's wife.... I not only get the opportunity to capture some awesome training moments on "film", I get the opportunity to participate every now & then. Look closely, the last photo is of me diving out of that window. Such fun!
